2009 Annual EEO Public File Report
  
The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section 73.2080(c) (6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule.  This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following stations:  WRJN-AM, Racine, WI and WEZY-FM, Racine, WI and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these stations and posted on their websites, if they have websites.
 
The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning July 29, 2008 to and including July 28, 2009.
 
The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:  
1.       A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period;
2.       For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c) (1) (ii) of the new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number.  This is attached;
3.       The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period;
4.       Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and
5.       A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c) (2) of the FCC Rules.  
Appendicies A, B and C which follow have been designed, in the aggregate to provide the required information.  Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix B under the column titled “Full Time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized” refer to the number of full time positions listed on Appendix A.
 
For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed “filled” not when the offer was extended, but when the hiree accepted the job offer.  A person was deemed “interviewed” whether he or she was interviewed in person, over the telephone or by email.

On-Air Announcements:  
WRJN and WEZY continuously run a pre-recorded message encouraging agencies and organizations to be added to our list for dissemination of job vacancies at our stations.   Exact time affidavits, with dates the announcements have run, are available in our Public File, located at the WRJN/WEZY studios, 4201 Victory Avenue, Racine, WI.
 
Internal Company Training Program:
WRJN and WEZY have an established and continual training program that helps newly hired or promoted supervisory personnel develop skills emphasizing the importance of workplace diversity and methods of ensuring equal opportunities and preventing discrimination in exercising their duties.
 
WBA Job Fair – January 28, 2009.  
About 80 job seekers attended the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Job Fair in Madison, WI. Vice President-Sales-Radio for Bliss Communications Mike O’Brien was in attendance and spoke with prospective employees.   WRJN and WEZY also ran promotional announcements encouraging interested applicants to attend.
 
WBA Sponsored EEO Workshop – January 28, 2009.
Vice President-Sales-Radio for Bliss Communications Mike O’Brien was in attendance at this one hour session that focused on ensuring Equal Employment Opportunity and preventing unlawful discrimination in accordance with the WBA’s Assistance Plan for EEO Compliance.
 
WBA Student Scholarship – 2008.
WRJN and WEZY contribute to the WBA Student Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation.   WRJN and WEZY contributed $100 for the calendar year, 2008.
 
WBA Foundation Scholarship Program Promotion – 2008/09.
WRJN and WEZY promoted the availability of the WBA Foundation Scholarship on both radio stations and internally, provided blank application forms upon request and answered questions about the program to interested parties. 
 
Broadcast Student Internship – Summer, Fall Semester, 2008.   
Vice President and General Manager Tim Etes oversaw an internship with a UW Parkside student. This internship focused on broadcast sports coverage and promotions as a way for student to get practical experience needed for his Sports Management degree emphasis. WRJN and WEZY also publicize their internship availability through the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association websites, student-faculty communiqués and publications.
 
Marketing Student Internship – Winter, 2008/09.
Office Manager Beth Proschwitz and Vice President and General Manager Tim Etes oversaw an internship for a GatewayTechnicalCollege marketing program student that focused on event coordination. The student coordinated our models for our 2009 Bridal Extravaganza and assisted in the stage show of this event. 
 
GatewayTechnicalCollege Advisory Board – 2008/09.
Etes, and Program Director Don Rosen also serve as Advisory Board members for the Gateway Broadcasting program, enabling them to interact with and offer guidance to faculty and students of the program.
 
WBA Job Fair – June 17, 2009.
Job seekers attended the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Job Fair in Elkhart Lake, WI.  Vice President and General Manager Tim Etes was in attendance and spoke with prospective employees for an open sales position.  WRJN and WEZY also ran promotional announcements encouraging interested applicants to attend.
