The Republican National Convention is happening in Milwaukee and while there are many “closed” activities in conjunction with the RNC, this is your guide to a few of the events where no special pass is required.
- “United Plants Across America” DAILY. Enjoy iconic national landmarks from five regions of the U.S. along with political statues, and stop for selfies throughout your visit. This is happening all week at the Mitchell Park Domes on South Layton Boulevard in Milwaukee. There is an entrance fee. Find more information here.
- “FORWARD: Wisconsin Artists” DAILY. The official state motto is simple, yet powerful. The Milwaukee-based gallery, Lily Pad West on North Broadway, is hosting the group exhibition, “FORWARD,” featuring artists from the Badgers State. Enjoy the visual journey throughout the week of the convention.
- “Convention Watch Party” DAILY, AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS. Enjoy the Wisconsin Northwoods atmosphere without having to drive there. The Drink Wisconsinbly Pub on West Highland Avenue in Milwaukee is hosting a watch party each afternoon and evening during the convention.
- “Jamboree at the RNC” MONDAY, JULY 15. Dubbed the official Monday night, July 15 after-party, the fun doesn’t end until 3 am! Mingle and enjoy music at RWB Milwaukee on Old World Third Street. Find more information on the RWB website here.
- “Purple Wisconsin: Once again a Top Swing State” TUESDAY, JULY 16. WisPolitics hosts a discussion highlighting Wisconsin’s swing state status at the Marquette University Law School. Purchase tickets for the Tuesday, July 16 event here.
- “Come Together Over Music” TUESDAY, JULY 16. The Tuesday night, July 16, dance party — is free and open to all. The hosts note: bring a friend from across the political aisle and you’ll both receive a drink ticket! Doors open at 6:30 pm for the event at Shank Hall on North Farwell Street in Milwaukee.
- “Beerpartisanship” WEDNESDAY, JULY 17. The Historic Third Ward neighborhood of Milwaukee is taking a stand for cracking a cold beer, taking a load off and soaking up the summer sun — all in the name of #Beerpartisanship! The gathering scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, at the Third Ward Beer Garden from 4 to 7 pm. Political propaganda posters from year’s past will also be on display. Learn more here.
- “Northern Lights Presents: RNC Live Music Nights” WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, JULY 17 AND 18. Enjoy live music under the beautiful Badgers State sky at the Northern Lights Event Venue on Seeboth Street in Milwaukee. Entertainment along the riverfront from 5 to 9 pm on Wednesday, July 17 and Thursday, July 18.
- “It Can’t Happen Here” THURSDAY, JULY 18. This live production is an homage to past elections and a call to action in 2024. Presented by Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company on West Bruce Street in Milwaukee at 6 pm, July 18, it is free, but reservations are requested. Find details here.
