GREEN BAY, WI – (WGBW) – One local candidate is fighting back against what he calls unfounded and false accusations in an attack ad. Ryan Spaude, running for the 89th Assembly District reacted Tuesday to an anti-LGBTQ+ released by a political action committee supporting his opponent.

Spaude released a statement in response to the ad.

“Hate has no place in Green Bay. It’s sad to see how the Republicans are launching anti-LGBTQ attacks during the final week of the election. These new ads have no basis in reality. There’s no citations in the ads, because they are just not true,” Spaude said in a press release.

The ad was paid for by the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee (RACC) as an in-kind donation to the Pat Buckley campaign. RACC is a political action committee or PAC.

“I’m staying focused on what matters. With a historic budget surplus, we need to invest in healthcare, childcare, and public schools,” Spaude said. “We can do so much to help working families, if we elect new leadership down in Madison.”

Ryan Spaude is an Assistant District Attorney for Brown County. His personal focus is on prosecuting drunk drivers. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He’s running because he cares about our community, its safety, and its future.

Assembly District 89 covers the west side of Green Bay and Ashwaubenon.
