The 3rd Assembly District covers parts of Calumet and Manitowoc counties east of Lake Winnebago in eastern Wisconsin.
By Jimmie Kaska, Civic Media StaffWISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Incumbent Republican Ron Tusler has been called the winner of the race for the 3rd Assembly District in Wisconsin.
The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening.
The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered solid Republican with a projected margin of 23 points.
Tusler was first elected to the Assembly in 2016. He is an attorney in Outagamie County who serves on five committees.
After the 2020 presidential election, Tusler, then the chair of the Committee on Campaigns and Elections, held an invite-only hearing to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election results.
Tusler defeated Democratic challenger Jason Schmitz, an industrial electrician.
