Kenosha, WIS (WRJN) – The Kenosha County Food Bank has announced the appointment of Melissa Kaprelian as its new executive director. Kaprelian currently serves as the District #5 alderperson on the Racine City Council and the District #4 supervisor on the Racine County Board. A statement from the organization says she’ll bring her extensive experience in community service and non-profit leadership to the organization.

In her new role, Kaprelian will be responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of the Kenosha County Food Bank, which serves as the central hub for food distribution in Kenosha County. The organization partners with local food pantries, community organizations, and donors to work towards bringing food to those in need.

Teri Knuese, board president of the Kenosha County Food Bank, expressed excitement about Kaprelian’s appointment. “Melissa Kaprelian’s expertise, leadership, and dedication to the non-profit sector make her an ideal fit for this role,” Knuese said. “We are confident that her deep understanding of the challenges facing the region and her proven track record of community engagement will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand our efforts to fight hunger in Kenosha County.”

The Kenosha County Food Bank distributed 60,513 pounds of food in 2023. To learn more about how to support the organization and make a difference in the lives of neighbors, visit their website at KenoshaCountyFoodbank.org.
