Fatal Accident in Fond du Lac County

RIPON, Wis.-(WRPN) The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Fond du Lac County Thursday morning.

Shortly before 7 am, the State Patrol and Sheriff’s deputies responded to State Highway 26 and Neitman Road, which is just northeast of Waupun. The head-on crash involved a tanker truck and passenger car. A woman was killed.

According to Sheriff’s logs the woman driving the car was ejected from it. She was the only occupant of the vehicle. She suffered multiple injuries. An off-duty nurse who stopped at the scene attempted CPR. The truck driver suffered a small laceration to the head and was treated at the scene.

The State Patrol will be releasing more details about the accident. The State Patrol had conducted Aerial Patrols of State Highway 26 in Fond du Lac County Tuesday and Wednesday looking for speeding and aggressive drivers.
