Oshkosh Retirement Group Purchases Former Kimberly-Clark Site
NEENAH, WI- (WISS) – An Oshkosh-based retirement group purchased the former Kimberly-Clark headquarters in the Neenah area. Evergreen Retirement Community plans to expand in the Fox Valley on the 43-acre site.
A release from Evergreen said it’s considering independent living apartments and assisted living accommodations in the over 178 thousand square foot office building on North Lake Street in Fox Crossing. The organization is also considering building independent-living homes, a fitness and aquatic center, performance space, and a place for worship.
“Evergreen has been exploring opportunities to expand into the Fox Valley for quite some time,” Evergreen President and CEO Ken Arneson said in a statement. “With the support of the Evergreen Board of Directors, this acquisition is our opportunity to grow and serve a new community.”
The property served as the KC headquarters from 1956 to 1985. After KC moved its operations to Texas, the building was used for office space until it closed in 2020.
The retirement group is working with the Village of Fox Crossing and AG Architecture, a Wauwatosa-based architectural firm specializing in senior living.
No sale price was announced but the property was listed for almost $10 million in 2021.
