Reedsburg Man Dies In Crash

A Reedsburg man lost his life Monday afternoon in the Town of Excelsior. Around 3:00 the Sauk County Dispatch Center received reports of a motor vehicle crash on STH 23 at Shady Lane Road. It was reported that a pick-up truck versus semi-tractor trailer resulted in serious injuries to the pick-up truck driver, who has been identified as Ronald Sersland, 63 of Reedsburg. Sersland was still in the truck. Deputies responding removed him from the truck and began lifesaving efforts with assistance from bystanders already on scene. Med- Flight was requested to respond directly to the scene.

The initial investigation revealed that Ronald Sersland was traveling southbound on 23 when he crossed the centerline and struck the semi-tractor trailer. Ronald Sersland, 63 of Reedsburg, died at the scene. The lone semi driver was transported to the Reedsburg Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
