OSHKOSH, WI – (WISS) – Women and girls are always in need of certain bare essentials. Items like period products, shampoo, deodorant, and even underwear are necessities and are sometimes hard to come by.

That’s why The Women’s Fund, which is part of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, and the Oshkosh Herald are working together for the Bare Essentials Drive. All of the items are being donated to the Tiny House Village and the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh.

Caitlin MacWilliams, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Discover Oshkosh, says they have a drop box and are happy to take the donations.

“You can bring in shampoo, deodorant, feminine products, and women’s and girl’s underwear,” said MacWilliams. “That’s the items that they’re looking to be donated. But, we also have received a variety of other things that obviously are bare essentials and will definitely be great items to have.”

People who donate to the Bare Essentials drive at the Discover Oshkosh office will get an OSH hat, while supplies last. MacWilliams suggests donating things like facial tissue, body spray, toothpaste, or even razors to the drive.
