MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) — Winter parking regulations are now in effect across southeastern Wisconsin, including in Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha.
In Milwaukee, vehicles are prohibited from parking on city streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday unless they have an overnight parking permit. During declared snow emergencies, alternate side parking is required citywide from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., with fines ranging from $50 to $150 for violations.
Racine also implemented winter parking rules starting December 1, with alternate side parking in effect daily except on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. That runs until April 1. During snow emergencies, parking is prohibited on main arterial streets and side streets.
Kenosha has adopted similar measures, enforcing alternate side parking between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Officials say the restrictions will help snow removal crews clear narrow streets, ensuring safe passage for emergency services.
People are encouraged to check their city’s website for detailed maps and regulations to avoid potential fines or towing during the winter months.
