
Racine Man Faces 2nd OWI, Drug Charges After Pursuit Ends in Mount Pleasant Crash
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis – (WRJN) – A 34-year-old Racine man faces multiple charges, including a second-offense OWI, after crashing into a Mount Pleasant home during a police pursuit early Thursday, April 24.
The suspect allegedly fled an attempted traffic stop on STH 31/S Green Bay Road around 1:39 a.m., striking a garage in the 6000 block of Regency Hills Drive. The crash damaged the home and two vehicles inside the garage.
Crews with the South Shore Fire Department treated the driver for minor injuries before being taken to the hospital. No one inside the home was injured.
Charges include possession of THC (repeat offender), reckless endangerment, fleeing an officer, and a probation hold.
Someone with the Mount Pleasant Building Inspection Department assisted in assessing structural damage, with police saying there was significant damage to the residence. A statement says the investigation remains active.
