RACINE, Wis (WRJN) – More than 1,300 students from nine Racine County schools are set to gather Saturday night at the Racine County Fairgrounds for the 72nd annual Racine Rotary Post Prom.

The motorcade, a highlight of the night, will feature arrivals in style and will be broadcast live on My24 Milwaukee and online starting at 6 p.m.

Union Grove High School will lead the procession, followed by the Home School Association, Lutheran, R.E.A.L. School, St. Catherine’s, Washington Park, Walden III, Case, and the Prairie School. Horlick High School is scheduled to close out the red carpet with an arrival at 8:50 p.m.

Founded in 1953 after a tragic car accident claimed the lives of several local students, Racine’s Post Prom was created by the Rotary Clubs to provide a safe, celebratory environment for graduates. The event has since grown into a nationally recognized rite of passage, inspiring a documentary “The World’s Best Prom.”
