RAMC trains in “Stop the Bleed”
REEDSBURG, Wis (WRCO / WRCE / WRPQ) – Reedsburg Area Medical Center (RAMC) participated in National STOP the BLEED Day on May 22 by training 15 staff members to refresh skills and learn new techniques to stop life-threatening bleeding until advanced professional help arrives.
Uncontrolled bleeding accounts for nearly 40 percent of trauma-related deaths worldwide. The average time it takes to bleed out is three to five minutes, but it often takes seven to 10 minutes for a first responder to arrive.
This training is available to anyone who is interested with no previous medical training required. Learn more at the Stop the Bleed website.
