The Green Bay Packers will host the New York Jets at Lambeau Field Saturday at 7 p.m. for their first preseason matchup. Fans can expect to see the starters on the field—at least briefly. Head Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed the plan, saying, “Yes. They’re football players. Everybody’s got to go into it expecting to play.”
Some players, however, will be sidelined due to injuries. Cornerback Nate Hobbs is expected to miss about three weeks with a minor knee injury. Left tackle Rasheed Walker is dealing with a groin issue. While it’s not considered serious, it may be enough to keep him out of tonight’s game as a precaution.
With preseason kicking off, all eyes will be on the Packers’ depth, development, and early chemistry. It’s the first look at what this year’s team could become—and the countdown to the regular season is officially on.
