The holidays arrive in downtown Racine this Saturday, November 9th, with the return of the city’s annual Holiday Parade and Tree-Lighting Celebration. It’s an evening packed with community spirit, music, and plenty of Christmas magic.
Things get started at 4:30 p.m. as carolers take over Monument Square, filling the air with familiar holiday tunes. Then at 5:30 p.m., the parade steps off from the west side of the State Street Bridge, rolling down Main Street and 6th Street before arriving at City Hall around 6:45 p.m.
But the night’s just getting started. At 6:50 p.m., the crowd will gather once again at Monument Square, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their grand appearance for the annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony. With one flip of the switch, the city’s holiday tree will come to life in a bright burst of color and light.
Throughout the night, visitors can enjoy live music and festive performances scattered around downtown. And once the tree is lit, the celebration ends with a short fireworks show—now a four-year tradition—bringing the night to a sparkling close.
