Returning to the Airwaves: Reviving the Community Spirit on WRJN Afternoons

I’m so excited to have been invited to come back and host the weekday afternoon show here on WRJN. When I first took over the morning show in the mid 1990’s, (alongside veteran newsman Tom Karkow), I envisioned a studio full of people, hyper-serving southeast Wisconsin. That’s when we hired meteorologist Elliot Abrams, and a separate sports reporter, traffic reporter, and business news reporter. Plus, with community leaders like the Mayor, County Executive, Sheriff, and Police Chief stopping by, I always felt like I was surrounded by friends, and that we were giving our listeners relevant information to start their day.

Now, I envision a similar atmosphere for the afternoon show. I’m already blessed to be joined by News Director Stuart J. Wattles, Sports Director Mike Clemens, and meteorologists from our Severe Weather Team.  In time, I expect to have other community members regularly popping in to say hi and share with our listeners details of their upcoming events. It won’t happen overnight, but I hope you, my friends and loyal listeners, will come along for the ride as we continue to hyper-serve our community with local News, and Timeless Hits.
