GREEN BAY, WI- (WGBW) – Nine Green Bay Area breweries have come together to brew a beer to match the excitement of the NFL Draft 2025 coming to Green Bay in April.

The “8th Round Downtown Pale Ale” is a hoppy, refreshing, hazy pale ale with notes of grapefruit, pine, and peach. It is served in a commemorative can designed to delight the taste buds of football (and non-football) enthusiasts from near and far.

“ (We’re) encouraging people to visit all kinds of different opportunities within the community – all the tap rooms, restaurants and bars, things from the Children’s Museum to Bay Beach,” said Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich. “We really want to spread the wealth and encourage people to get around the community. And what greater opportunity than to advertise what we have from a craft brewing perspective.”

The beer will be available during the Draft City Music Fest  and at local breweries.

Mary Rhodes with On Broadway said the special brew will add a special flare to all the events surrounding the NFL Draft 2025.

“ I think with the Touchdown Downtown events that we’re doing – really trying to give certainly locals but also all of that influx of visitors, really, a taste of Green Bay and a taste of Northeast Wisconsin. And a big part of that certainly is the local craft beer that we make here,” Rhodes said.

Participating breweries include:

  • Ahnapee Brewery
  • Badger State Brewing Company
  • Cocoon Brewing Company
  • Copper State Brewing Co.
  • Hinterland
  • Noble Roots Brewing Company
  • Stillmank Brewing Co.
  • Titletown Brewing Co.
  • Zambaldi Beer

“The spirit of brewing is alive and well in Green Bay, and we’d like to formally announce that the rumors around the draft are true,” Andrew Fabry, owner of Badger State Brewing Company, said in a press release. “Badger State is honored to host a special collaborative beer being produced for Green Bay’s Draft in April.”

Draft City Music Fest is a part of the multi-day Touchdown Downtown, happening throughout downtown Green Bay from April 23 – 26. Full event details can be found online.
