Former Social Security Commissioner O’Malley to Discuss GOP Budget at Racine Town Hall
RACINE, Wis. – (Civic Media) – Former Social Security Administration Commissioner Martin O’Malley will join a “Citizens’ Town Hall” in Racine Thursday to discuss a Republican-proposed budget.
O’Malley, who led the SSA from December 2023 until November 2024, will field questions alongside Racine representative and Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer.

A statement says they’ll talk about alleged cuts to Medicaid, Social Security, and nutrition assistance programs.
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has denied targeting Medicaid, saying their proposals focus on eliminating “fraud and waste” without reducing benefits.
“Donald Trump and Elon Musk are trying to break social security so they can rob it,” O’Malley said in a statement. He added, “Americans are rising up to say ‘hands off’ our earned benefits.”

The event will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Dr. John Bryant Community Center. It’s being hosted by advocacy groups including Fair Share America and Opportunity Wisconsin.
